Marty Bhatia
Geek, romantic, foodie, house cook, math lover, and more. What does this mean? It means that Marty likes life and strives to be a renaissance-man. He believes in the live work balance. He strives to empower his clients, friends and family. And, what he really wants you to know about how he handles his work is that he loves logic and efficiency.
As for work experience, there has been a wide variety of jobs in many industries. Marty discovered early that he is not fit to work for anyone but himself or on dynamic teams. Rising to leadership is something he does naturally, but knows how to be led by professionals. Starting with sales at 15 years old, he has mastered the art of the sale. Authentic communication is at the core of his belief system, and was further enhanced by his degree in communication which he is actually using. But, honestly one of his motivations in communications was to meet girls, and it worked as that is where he met his amazing wife Megan.
Soon after his marriage Marty began a career in real estate development for a company on the west side of Chicago. There he gained his real estate licence and began learning project management with his commissions on the line. Learning fast was the only option, and within 2 years he began two companies in development and real estate sales. He was inspired by the environmental movement in the industry and focused on making properties energy efficient. After, another year Marty started his construction company and then material distribution company to further the strength of the development process. Cutting costs in the competitive market was paramount to success.
And then, 2008 happened. It was the destruction of the industry, and despite all efforts to hang on, all the companies but the real estate company were closed. His wife had joined him in the real estate brokerage, and eventually took on ownership. Now both Megan and Marty are brokers of Om Realty Group LLC. There own real estate brokerage.
Throughout his career in real estate Marty discovered a love a negotiation and is a skillful closer. Marty’s skill as a broker have helped clients analyze property acquisition for rental vs. purchase, and understands the finance of transactions thoroughly. Now Marty often works with Bill Hubbard of Hubbard Business Counsel on strategic business development, learning securities laws, and enhancing his skill set.
